FAQ’s about your Visit

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive 30 minutes before your appointment if you have not pre-registered online. If you have pre-registered online, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment.

How long does the visit take?

We respect your time. Before you arrive, we have spent an average of 1-2 hours getting ready for your unique visit. If you have pre-registered online, the visit will take you 30-60 minutes. If your visit is for wisdom teeth, you will save 15 minutes by watching the video.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

  • Printed copy of your completed registration
  • Insurance cards – both medical and dental
  • Photo ID
  • Your calendar to reference when scheduling
  • List of your medications (if applicable)
  • Form of payment – check, Visa, MasterCard Discover, & cash (correct change appreciated)

Do I need to bring an x-ray?

No, you do not need to bring an x-ray. We follow a number of treatment standards which support a high quality of care and one of those is a surgical-quality x-ray, which we will take. The type of x-ray you need is determined by the surgeon and may include a surgical-quality panorex, 3D image or CT scan. If possible, omit wearing earrings, lip rings, etc.

What happens during my first visit?

You will typically have an x-ray, exam, and brief history and physical. We will make recommendations, go over the proposed treatment and schedule your procedure for a different day. Patients under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Will you do my procedure during the initial visit?

Not typically. Most of our patients have their surgery on a different day. Studies have shown that patients who have a consultation and procedure on different days have a more comfortable experience.
